Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
- Remmy is for people aged 13 and up.
- Chats are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Remmy remembers a short list of things to help you (like goals and exams). You can see and delete it.
- Your habits and mood check-ins stay on your phone.
- We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads and we don’t use an advertising ID.
- You can delete everything at any time in the app: Me → Delete everything.
Who we are
Remmy (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an AI study buddy app operated by Sonja Jankovikj Gelevska. Questions about privacy? Email gelevski44@gmail.com.
Age
Remmy is only for people aged 13 or older. The app asks for your age before you start and doesn’t let younger people continue. If we learn that someone under 13 is using Remmy, we delete their account and data. If you’re a parent and think your child under 13 uses Remmy, email us and we’ll delete it.
We treat everyone as a minor unless they tell us they are 18 or older, so the safest settings are on by default.
What we collect and why
| What | Why | Where it’s kept | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account: an anonymous ID. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, the email address they share with us. | To keep your chats, memory and plan linked to you, and to restore them on a new phone. | Our servers (Google Firebase) | Until you delete your account |
| Chat messages and Remmy’s replies | So Remmy can answer you and keep the conversation going. | Our servers | Deleted automatically after 30 days |
| Photos of homework you take in the app | So Remmy can read the problem and help. We don’t store the photos. | Sent to our AI provider to create the reply, not saved by us | Not kept |
| Memory: a short list of notes such as your goals, subjects, upcoming exams and how you like to learn | So Remmy can personalize help. We ask the AI never to store names of other people, addresses, phone numbers, school names, health details or anything from a crisis conversation. | Our servers | Until you delete it or your account |
| Study plan: exams, topics and tasks you add | To build your plan and bring it back on a new phone. | Your phone and our servers | Until you delete it or your account |
| Habits and mood check-ins | To show your habits and streaks. | Only on your phone | On your phone; removed if you delete the app or use Delete everything |
| Name you give during setup, buddy style, language, reminder settings | To personalize the app. | Only on your phone | Same as above |
| Subscription status (Remmy Plus) | To unlock Plus. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details. | Apple / Google, RevenueCat, our servers | While you have an account |
| Usage counts (for example, how many messages you sent today) | To apply fair-use limits. | Our servers | Until you delete your account |
| Safety signals: a count of messages where someone may be in danger | To keep Remmy safe. When this happens Remmy stops and shares crisis resources (like 988 in the US). | Our servers | Until you delete your account |
| Reports you send about a Remmy reply (the reply and the reason you picked) | To review problems and keep Remmy safe. | Our servers | Up to 1 year; unlinked from you if you delete your account |
| Anonymous usage stats (for example “a study task was finished”), device type, app version | To understand what works and fix problems. Never what you type or say. You can turn this off: Me → Privacy & data. | Google Analytics for Firebase | Google’s standard retention |
AI replies
Remmy’s replies are written by an AI model. To create a reply, your recent messages, your memory notes and any photo you send are sent to our AI provider, DeepInfra, which runs the AI model (DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash, an open model) on its servers in the United States. DeepInfra processes it only to create the reply. Nothing is sent to DeepSeek, the company that made the model. The AI can make mistakes, so check important facts.
Who we share data with
Only with services that help us run Remmy, and only for that purpose:
- Google Firebase: sign-in, database, servers and anonymous analytics.
- DeepInfra (United States): running the AI model that writes Remmy’s replies.
- Apple and Google: Sign in with Apple / Google, app stores and payments.
- RevenueCat: managing Remmy Plus subscriptions.
We don’t sell or rent personal information, we don’t share it for advertising, and Remmy has no ads. We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Your choices and rights
- See and delete memory: Me → What Remmy knows about me.
- Delete everything: Me → Delete everything removes your account and your data from our servers and this phone right away.
- Turn off usage stats: Me → Privacy & data.
- Notifications: Remmy’s reminders are optional and can be turned off in the app or your phone settings.
- Ask us: email gelevski44@gmail.com to ask what we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Parents can contact us about their teen’s account.
Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have extra rights, such as to know, correct, delete or get a copy of your data. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever they live.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to our servers is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is important.
